Alharthi is a PhD candidate in creative writing at Florida State University. Her debut Arabic short story collection Black Cat & Other Stories won the Sharja Prize for Arab Creativity. Her chapbook Pear & Other Essays won Kairos Literary 1st place award. She is the recipient of the 2023 Cole Swensen Prize for Translation, and the 2023-2024 Kingsbury Award.
